Saugus Cuts Ribbon on New Golden Hills Playground
SAUGUS — The town invited residents to a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Golden Hills playground, even as crews wrapped up repairs that had closed Ballard Street at Route 107 after a water main break.
TOWN HALL
The town announced the community is invited to a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly built Golden Hills playground, one of the more visible capital projects to reach completion this summer. The News Flash release gave no further detail on the ceremony's exact date or program, but the announcement itself marks the project's completion.
Separately, MassDOT and the town confirmed that Ballard Street at Route 107 has reopened to traffic after a water main break forced a closure. The advisory, posted the evening of Aug. 21, did not specify how long the closure lasted before repairs were completed.
The Saugus Public Library also opened its Community Room for the town's Early Voting period ahead of the September 1 election, with sessions running from Saturday, Aug. 22, through Friday, Aug. 28. The library and the town both flagged the schedule again this week as the window opened.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Saugus Public Library announced that Adult Craft Night returns Tuesday, Sept. 1, with a session on making trinket dishes from oyster shells and Mod Podge. Online registration opened Aug. 18 for residents who want a spot.
