Saugus Library Caps Summer Season With Family Programs, Concert

The Saugus Public Library rounds out its summer calendar this week with a run of children's programs and a free outdoor concert, while four town boards and committees hold meetings ahead of early voting for the September 1 special election.

The library's Iron Works schedule is full over the next two days. CFCE Jump & Jive meets Wednesday, Aug. 19 at 9:30 a.m., followed by Storytime with Gemma at 10:30 a.m. The library's Summer Concert series, a story Townbrief Saugus covered earlier this week, closes out Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. with Coco Brown & the Invitation. Thursday, Aug. 20 brings Music and Mother Goose at 10:30 a.m., also at the Iron Works.

"Bruce Weyler Obituary" ran in The Press Democrat this week, memorializing a Saugus-raised Tufts University graduate. COMING UP

The Conservation Commission meets Wednesday, Aug. 19. The Town Clerk's office and Board of Registrars, the SCTV Board of Directors and the Planning Board all meet Thursday, Aug. 20. Saturday, Aug. 22 is the last day to register to vote for the September 1 town election, with early voting itself beginning Monday, Aug. 24.
