Saugus Library Launches Two New Teen Programs This Week
SAUGUS — The Saugus Public Library introduced two new programs for teens this week and told patrons that access to the Lynn Item's online edition has changed, the most concrete local news to surface across town sources over the past two days.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The library is adding a beading bracelet workshop for teens in grades 5 and up, set for Monday, Oct. 19, from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Brooks Room. No registration is required. Separately, the library is starting a low-pressure social hour tied to a queer-themed book club for teens, open to anyone who wants to read along or just show up and talk.
Library staff also alerted patrons to a change in how they access Itemlive.com, the online version of the Lynn Item, though the library's announcement did not spell out what the new access process looks like.
The library's Summer Concerts at the Iron Works series, which drew attention earlier this month for pairing two acts on one bill, returns Wednesday, Aug. 12, with a single-act show from the Squeeze Box Stompers.
COMING UP
Library programming picks up next week with CFCE Messy Mornings for ages 0 to 5 on Monday, Aug. 10, at 9:30 a.m., followed Tuesday, Aug. 11, by back-to-back CFCE playgroups for ages 0 to 2 at 9:30 a.m. and ages 3 to 5 at 10:30 a.m., and a Game Night at 6 p.m. The Squeeze Box Stompers play the library's Iron Works concert series Wednesday, Aug. 12.
On the municipal side, the Housing Authority meets Wednesday, Aug. 12, and the Northeast Metro Tech School Committee and its sub-committee both meet Thursday, Aug. 13.
