Board of Selectmen · Meeting of May 5, 2026

SAUGUS — The Saugus Board of Selectmen voted 5-0 to create a one-way morning traffic restriction on Long Place after residents complained of school-related cut-through traffic blocking driveways. Residents Rosaria and Derek Serino told the board the restriction would stop "spillover traffic from the school traffic from Main Street onto Franklin to Long Place." The board also approved a special permit for Kizmos Inc., doing business as Oasis Spa, at 1201 Broadway, and granted Saugus Minuteman Wings LLC a Wingstop common victualer license allowing hours of 10:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily. Town Manager Scott Crabtree told members the town is paying $700,000 to $800,000 this year toward vocational school costs and cautioned against rushing a debt exclusion or override vote for a proposed public safety building, citing a $6 million water meter project and roughly $4 million in park work already underway.
