Saugus library board tables policy votes for lack of quorum
Library · Meeting of February 12, 2026
Saugus library trustees meet without a quorum but move fiscal 2027 budget request forward. Library Director Thibault told the two attending trustees, Sullivan and Faringo, that she met with Town Manager Mr. Crabtree and the treasurer on January 30 to finalize the budget request, which has since gone to the Select Board.
Thibault also reported the Nahant Public Library will join the 24-library Noble consortium as an associate member on July 1, bringing membership to 18 public and seven academic libraries, and that all Noble public libraries are now fine-free as of November 2025. Trustee Faringo said he has "had great feedback on the library from folks around town." Circulation and inclement weather policy votes were pushed to the March 12 meeting for lack of quorum, and the board adjourned at 6:12 p.m.
