Planning Board hires Tetra Tech to review Route 1 parking plan
Planning Board · Meeting of January 15, 2026
Saugus Planning Board reelects officers, orders peer review for a Route 1 parking expansion. Members returned John O'Brien as chair, 3-0, and elected Jeanette Meredith vice chair, 4-0, then voted 4-0 to hire Tetra Tech, at an estimated $5,000, to peer-review a 58-space parking expansion for a Brazilian steakhouse replacing the former Continental Restaurant. Consulting Engineer Todd Baldwin advised a proposed 11 Daisy Avenue subdivision applicant to "wait off until after you've registered with conservation," citing wetland buffer conflicts.
The board also delegated sign-off authority for routine building permits to its consulting engineers and continued both the Continental hearing and the 198-unit Kowloon's redevelopment review at 860 Broadway, which still needs Board of Selectmen approval for a second drive-through window, to February 5.
