Planning Board extends Homeland Ave subdivision one year
Planning Board · Meeting of September 17, 2026
Saugus Planning Board grants shorter-than-requested extension over a disputed retaining wall. The board voted 5-0 to give Cagwee Holdings LLC a one-year extension on its Homeland Avenue subdivision, approved in 2021, rather than the two years attorney John Kelty requested, after member Robert Long confirmed the wall actually built differs from what the board approved. The board is requiring an engineer-stamped, incorporated wall plan within six months.
"I think we should be seeing you in the shortest span of time," the chair said. The board separately accepted an as-built closeout package for the completed Chase Bank project at 180 Central Street, presented by engineer Nick Dewhurst, and continued three other site plan review hearings, covering properties on Broadway, to October 1.
