Board of Selectmen approves FY 2027 budget, permits, and council reappointments

Saugus Board of Selectmen votes unanimously on FY 2027 budget and special permits. Chair Debra Panetta and the five-member board approved Finance Director Wendy A. Hatch's FY 2027 Departmental Operating Budget with the caveat that salaries and wages may change at the Town Manager's discretion.
The board also unanimously granted Fox Hill Yacht Club's request for a change of manager to Dave Cecere, approved VFW Post 2346's change of officers and manager Lauren Flynn, and voted 5-0 to modify a Special Permit at 4 Hewlett Street for Steven R. Kalman's general construction business with strict operational restrictions on hours, vehicle limits, and material storage. The board reappointed Niveditha Amarnath and Mary Kinsell to the Cultural Council through December 31, 2028.
