Board Clears Seven Business Licenses in Saugus
Select Board · Meeting of August 18, 2026
Saugus Select Board hears water bill abatement grievances, clears seven business licenses in one night. Resident Patrick DiRigo said his bill rose from about $200 to roughly $1,000 after a seven-month billing delay and a four-month wait for a denial he called unexplained; a second resident said his bill swung from $3,600 to $600 after adding a sprinkler, calling the meter "impossible" not to be faulty. Selectman Ciccolini reviewed denial paperwork from Treasurer/Collector Wendy Hatch and urged DiRigo to request a direct meeting and pursue a formal appeal.
The board also approved, 5-0 in most cases, a special permit for Hope Massage Studio, extended hours for Chipotle, taxi/livery licenses for EAS Transportation (4-0, with a recusal) and Carosas Transportation, entertainment license amendments for Show You Restaurant and K-Pub Kitchen and Bar, and a one-day liquor license for Saugus VFW Post 2346's member appreciation day. The board also accepted two donated vehicles for the Council on Aging.
