Saugus Selectmen insert 45 articles into Town Meeting warrant

Saugus Selectmen unanimously advanced 45 articles for Town Meeting, covering bylaw amendments, zoning changes, and capital projects. Chair Debra Panetta led the board through articles on Charter Review, cryptocurrency ATM restrictions, speed tables, school enrichment programs, water and sewer infrastructure, and supplementary appropriations. Superintendent Michael Hashen requested seven school initiatives for fiscal year 2027, including English learner support and academic programs.
Town Manager Scott C. Crabtree submitted articles for enterprise fund appropriations and capital equipment. The board also unanimously allowed applicant Maxwell Comfort to withdraw his Taxi/Livery License application without prejudice after abutters opposed the request on zoning grounds.
