Saugus School Committee, Athletic Subcommittee Set to Meet Thursday

DATELINE — SAUGUS The Saugus School Committee and its Athletic Subcommittee are both scheduled to meet Thursday, Aug. 27, as the district works through its fiscal 2027 budget process. The sessions follow the recent posting of FY27 budget documents to the Saugus Public Schools website. Saugus Public Library, meanwhile, has two concrete community dates on the calendar for the coming week.

SCHOOLS

The Athletic Subcommittee and the full School Committee both have meetings scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 27, according to the town's public calendar. The sessions come after Superintendent Michael Hashem's office posted the committee-approved FY27 budget and a companion FY27 budget timeline to the district website; Town Manager Scott Crabtree had earlier provided an update on his FY27 budget recommendation for Saugus Public Schools.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

Saugus Public Library's Thursday Night Book Club meets Thursday, Aug. 27, at 6:30 p.m. The library's CFCE Storytime program for children ages 0 to 6 returns Friday, Aug. 28, at 9:30 a.m. at the Saugus Iron Works, with registration required.

The library's free summer concert series at the Iron Works also wrapped Wednesday evening with a return performance by Ditto Band, closing out a season previewed in earlier coverage.
