Saugus Library Sets Fall Craft Night, New Friends Meeting

SAUGUS — The Saugus Public Library is turning the page toward autumn programming, with Adult Craft Night returning September 1 and a New Friends of the Saugus Public Library gathering set for September 2, alongside the Saugus Cultural Council's meeting the same week.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

Adult Craft Night returns to the library on Tuesday, September 1, at 6 p.m., giving residents a hands-on evening activity as the library shifts its calendar into fall. The Saugus Cultural Council also meets that evening at 6 p.m., a local body that reviews arts and cultural funding requests for the community.

The following morning, September 2 at 10 a.m., the New Friends of the Saugus Public Library will hold a meeting, an organizing group that supports library programming and fundraising. Earlier in the week, CFCE Messy Mornings, a hands-on program for children ages 0 to 5, is scheduled for August 31 at 9:30 a.m. and requires registration.

TOWN HALL

The town's homepage continues to list a run of recent municipal actions, including the unveiling of the new Golden Hills Playground and a MassDOT advisory confirming Ballard Street at Route 107 has reopened following a water break. Summer Street paving tied to gas main restoration work also began the week of August 24, part of ongoing infrastructure projects around town alongside the National Grid gas project at Main Street and Newhall Avenue.

SCHOOLS

Saugus Public Schools' website continues to display the FY27 School Committee approved budget and budget timeline as reference documents for families following the district's finances. Superintendent Michael Hashem's office also has the district calendar posted, with Labor Day, September 7, marking the next scheduled day off for students.
