SAUGUS — Finance Committee backs seven warrant articles unanimously for May town meeting. Chair Kenneth DePatto's committee voted 8-0 on multiple articles including indefinite postponement of water and sewer supplementary requests, a $14,264 appropriation for prior-year unpaid bills, $37,849 from the Transportation Infrastructure Fund for state-mandated rideshare fees, and $360,000 in departmental revolving fund authorizations for Fiscal Year 2027. The committee also endorsed $300,000 for water hydrant and valve repairs and $150,000 for guardrail replacement from certified free cash, and unanimously recommended a comprehensive bylaw regulating electric bicycles and motorized micromobility devices with fines ranging from written warning to $300 per offense.
The school budget, requested for separate consideration, has not yet been posted as Chair DePatto awaits Town Counsel opinions.
